Founded in 1981, Eagle Gym began as a small, no-frills training space tucked into what is now Ericson Plaza at the intersection of Midland and Woodson Rd in Overland, Missouri. What started as a humble, hard-hitting gym quickly grew into a cornerstone of the local fitness and combat sports scene.

After a fire forced the demolition of the original building in the mid-80s, founder Rick King moved Eagle Gym to its current home in 1993. For over three decades, Rick’s passion for powerlifting, strongman training, and boxing shaped the soul of this place. His tough-as-nails attitude and deep love for the sport built more than muscle — it built a community.

Rick remained the heart of Eagle Gym until his passing in 2023. Today, under new ownership, his legacy lives on. The raw, old-school atmosphere that lifters love still remains — gritty floors, steel plates, and motivational chaos — while adding a few upgrades: 24-hour keyless access, new combo racks, additional platforms, modern equipment, and updated facilities.

Whether you’re chasing a personal best, training for your next fight, or just here to put in the work—Eagle Gym is where strength is earned.
